Problem
Inconsistent means of gathering business health metrics creating conflict for accuracy and productivity across business groups
Field leaders, a critical group within our client's organization, are responsible for understanding how the business is doing, driving results across the business and preparing metrics to share at the end of each quarter. At the time, the means of gathering business health metrics and how each field leader synthesized this information for their particular business group was not consistent across the board. Our team was asked to conduct user research to capture the current behaviors amongst field leaders and design a solution to be used by multiple business groups within the company.

Field research through interviews
To help us understand the specific needs of our users, we carried out a series of interviews (23 participants), asking individuals from each of the business groups to describe how they retrieve and consume information. The interviews informed our user needs list and gave us more insight as to which specific areas were pertinent to address and how we might go about designing a valuable solution.
